Mindful Moments Movement

Promote relaxation and focus

In this lesson, students will engage in gentle movements and stretches paired with mindful breathing exercises. This session aims to promote relaxation and focus, aiding students in self-regulation and stress management. By incorporating these practices, students can enhance their ability to maintain attention throughout the school day, contributing to a more positive learning environment.

Step 1

Introduction to Mindfulness

3 minutes

  • Discuss how mindfulness can help us feel calm and focused.
  • Encourage students to share any experiences they have with mindfulness.

Step 2

Guided Movement and Breathing

12 minutes

  • Lead students through a series of gentle movements and stretches.
  • Pair each movement with a mindful breathing exercise.

  • Encourage students to focus on their breath and the sensations in their body.

Step 3

Reflection and Discussion

5 minutes

Mountain Pose: Stand tall, feet together, arms at sides. Breathe deeply.








Tree Pose: Stand on one leg, place foot on inner thigh, hands together. Breathe.








Cat-Cow Stretch: On hands and knees, arch back up and down. Breathe.
