Step 1

Introduction

3 minutes

  • Welcome students and introduce the concept of mindfulness.
  • Explain the benefits of mindfulness, such as reducing stress and improving focus.
  • Set the intention for the session: to practice being present and aware.

Step 2

Guided Mindfulness Exercise

10 minutes

  • Ask students to sit comfortably with their feet flat on the floor and hands resting on their laps.
  • Guide them through a simple breathing exercise: Inhale deeply through the nose, hold for a moment, and exhale slowly through the mouth.
  • Encourage students to focus on their breath and notice any sensations in their body.
  • If their mind wanders, gently bring their attention back to their breath.

Reflection Discussion

5 minutes

  • Facilitate a discussion using the Mindfulness Reflection Discussion attachment.
  • Encourage students to share their experiences and thoughts on the exercise.
