Step 1

Introduction to Mindfulness

5 mins

  • Begin by asking students if they have heard of mindfulness.
  • Explain that mindfulness is about paying attention to the present moment.
  • Discuss how it can help us feel calm and focused.

Step 2

Breathing Exercise

10 mins

  • Introduce a simple breathing exercise: 'Belly Breathing'.
  • Demonstrate how to breathe deeply into the belly, counting to 4 on the inhale and 4 on the exhale.
  • Play calm music in the background.
  • Guide students through 3-5 minutes of belly breathing.

Step 3

Visualization Technique

10 mins

  • Explain visualization as creating a picture in your mind.
  • Guide students through a simple visualization: 'Imagine a Peaceful Place'.
  • Ask them to close their eyes and imagine a place where they feel safe and happy.
  • Encourage them to think about the sights, sounds, and smells of this place.
