Prep

15 minutes

- Set up the classroom for a calming environment (dim lights, soft music).
- Print copies of the Reflection Journal Worksheet for each student.
- Prepare the Guided Meditation Activity audio or script.
- Print the Mindful Reflection Exit Ticket for each student.

Introduction to Mindfulness

What is Mindfulness?

- Focus on the sensation of your breath entering and leaving your body.

Objective:

Materials Needed:

- Comfortable seating arrangement
Instructions:

- Dim the lights and play soft background music if desired.

Play the guided meditation audio or read the following script:
"Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose. Hold it for a moment, and then slowly exhale through your mouth. Let your breath return to its natural rhythm.
Imagine a warm, golden light surrounding you, filling you with a sense of peace and calm. With each breath, feel this light spreading through your body, relaxing your muscles and easing any tension.
As you continue to breathe, focus on the sensation of your breath. Notice how it feels as it enters and leaves your body. If your mind starts to wander, gently bring your focus back to your breath.
Spend a few moments in this state of relaxation, allowing yourself to be fully present in the moment."
