Step 1
Introduction
5 minutes
- Welcome students and explain the purpose of the session: to reflect on the past year and practice mindfulness.
- Briefly discuss what mindfulness is and how it can help us feel calm and focused.
Step 2
Mindfulness Exercise
10 minutes
- Guide students through a simple mindfulness exercise:
- Ask students to sit comfortably and close their eyes.
- Encourage them to take deep breaths, focusing on their breath as it goes in and out.
- Play calm music softly in the background (optional).
- Prompt them to think about a positive memory from the past year.
Step 3
Reflection Activity
10 minutes
- Distribute the Reflection Worksheet.
- Ask students to write or draw about their positive memory and how it made them feel.
- Encourage them to think about what they learned from this experience.
Step 4
Closing Discussion
5 minutes
- Use the Discussion Guide to facilitate a conversation about the exercise:
- How did the mindfulness exercise make you feel?
- What positive memories did you reflect on?
- How can we use mindfulness to help us in the future?
