Lesson Plan

Feeling Faces Playbook

Students will learn to identify and name four basic emotions—happy, sad, mad, and scared—by observing facial and body cues. By the end of the lesson, each child will recognize and express these emotions in themselves and others.

Understanding basic emotions fosters self-awareness and empathy. This lesson helps kindergarteners build emotional vocabulary, recognize cues in others, and articulate their feelings, laying a foundation for social-emotional development and effective communication.
