Meet the Counselor Adventure

Introduce students to the school counselor

In this lesson, students will go on a fun scavenger hunt around the classroom to find clues that introduce them to the school counselor and their role. This interactive activity helps make the introduction memorable and engaging for young students.

Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

Gather students in a circle.
Briefly introduce the idea of a school counselor.
Explain that they will be going on an adventure to learn more about the counselor.

Step 2

Scavenger Hunt

20 mins

Hand out the Clue Worksheet.
Explain how the scavenger hunt will work: students will find clues hidden around the classroom that will tell them more about the school counselor.
Allow students to work individually or in pairs to find the clues and fill in their worksheet.

Step 3

Closing Discussion

5 mins

Gather students back in a circle.
Discuss what they learned about the school counselor.
Use the Discussion Questions to guide the conversation.
Encourage students to ask any additional questions they might have.
