  • Begin by explaining the day's activities and the importance of practicing math skills through games.
  • Assign students to small groups and explain how the rotation through the different stations will work.
  • Provide each group with a worksheet to track their progress at each station.

Step 2

Station 1: Addition Bingo

15 mins

  • Provide each student with an Addition Bingo card.
  • Call out addition problems, and students will solve them to mark the corresponding answers on their cards.
  • The first student to get five correct answers in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) wins.
  • Encourage students to help each other and discuss the addition problems if needed.

Step 3

Station 2: Subtraction Memory Match

15 mins

  • Provide each group with a set of subtraction memory match cards.
  • Students will take turns flipping over two cards at a time, trying to find a matching pair of subtraction problems and solutions.
  • If a match is found, the student keeps the pair and takes another turn. If not, the next student plays.
  • Continue playing until all matches are found.

Step 4

Station 3: Shape Sorting

15 mins

  • Provide each group with a set of shape sorting cards and a sorting mat.
  • Students will sort the cards by different attributes, such as shape, size, or color.
  • Discuss the sorted shapes and why they belong in each category.
  • Encourage students to think about the properties of each shape and how they can be classified.

Step 5

Closure

5 mins

  • Gather all students and have a brief discussion about what they learned at each station.
  • Ask students to share their favorite game and what math skills they found most challenging or enjoyable.
  • Collect worksheets and provide feedback on their progress and teamwork.
