Introduction and Warm-Up (5 minutes)

"Good morning, everyone! Today, we're going to talk about something very important – loving our bodies and choosing foods that help us grow strong and happy. Can everyone say, 'I love my body!'?"

"When I say 'body image,' I mean how we see and feel about our bodies. Can anyone tell me what they think 'nutritious foods' are? Maybe something colorful like fruits and vegetables, or food that gives us energy!"

Interactive Reading and Discussion (10 minutes)

"Now, we're going to read a story together called the 'Love Your Body Reading Material.' Let's all sit comfortably and listen closely. As we read, think about ways you love your body and foods that make you feel strong."

(Teacher reads the Love Your Body Reading Material aloud to the class.)

"That was a wonderful story! Now, let's talk about it. What was your favorite part of the story? How did it make you feel about your body?"

(Encourage students to share their thoughts. Use additional prompts if needed:)

"Did anyone hear about a food mentioned in the story that they already like to eat, or maybe a new food they want to try?"

"Remember, no answer is too small – every idea is special!"

Activity, Game, and Worksheet (10 minutes)

"Now it's time to move around and have some fun! We'll start with an activity. Please grab your Love Your Body Activity Sheet from your desk. On this sheet, you’ll find fun activities that remind us all the wonderful things our bodies can do. Follow the instructions, and feel free to share with a partner what makes your body amazing!"

"Great job, everyone! Now, let’s play a game called the Love Your Body Game. In this game, we’ll stand up and move like our favorite healthy foods. For example, you might wiggle like a juicy strawberry or stretch like a tall carrot. When I say your favorite food, show us your best move!"

(Teacher leads the game, ensuring all students are engaged and active.)

"Before we finish, I have one more activity. I'll pass out the Love Your Body Worksheet. On your worksheet, you can draw or write one thing you love about your body or a healthy food you enjoy. Take a few minutes to work on it quietly."

Conclusion (Wrap-Up)

"Thank you for sharing and participating today! Remember, your body is amazing and deserves love and care. Whether you're eating a healthy snack or playing, you're making choices that help your body be the best it can be. Keep loving yourself every day!"

"Before we go, does anyone want to share one thing they wrote or drew on their worksheet?"

(Allow a few volunteers to share.)

"Great job today, everyone! I can’t wait to see you all for our next fun lesson!"

Reading

Love Your Body Reading Material

Once upon a time, in a colorful town called Healthville, there was a little girl named Bella who loved to explore. Every morning, Bella woke up excited to discover new adventures, and she especially adored taking care of her amazing body. She believed her body was like a superhero's suit – strong, special, and ready to help her save the day!

Bella knew that eating healthy foods made her feel powerful and bright. Every breakfast was a rainbow of fruits, every lunch a burst of vegetables, and every snack a chance to try something fun and new. She would say, "Fruits and veggies give me the power to run, jump, dance, and play!"

One sunny day at school, Bella and her friends gathered under a big oak tree. Their teacher shared a wonderful story about how every part of them – from their tiny toes to their sparkling smiles – was unique and important. Bella listened carefully and felt a warm glow inside her heart. She realized that loving her body was about taking care of it, enjoying healthy foods, and celebrating all the amazing things it could do.

After the story, Bella decided to create a special drawing. She sketched a picture of herself surrounded by her favorite foods: a crunchy carrot, a juicy apple, and a bright bunch of grapes. In her drawing, she wrote, "I love my body because it lets me have adventures every day!"

Bella’s story spread throughout Healthville. Soon, all the children began to share how they felt about their bodies and the nutritious foods they enjoyed. They learned that when they cared for their bodies with love and good food, they could be strong, happy, and ready for any adventure that came their way.

And so, in Healthville, every day became a celebration of vibrant health, happy bodies, and the superpower of loving yourself!
