Life Skills Quest Games Pack Contents
Below are the four core games in the Life Skills Quest Games Pack, with materials, setup, and playing instructions.
- Clock Match
• Materials: Set of 12 clock‐face cards (analog times) and 12 time‐word cards (e.g., “two o’clock,” “3:30”).
• Setup: Shuffle clock faces and time words into two piles, face down.
• Instructions: Students take turns flipping one card from each pile. If the analog clock matches the time word, the student keeps the pair; if not, cards return face down. Continue until all pairs are found. After each match, discuss: “What time does this show?” - Healthy Plate Sort
• Materials: Food picture cards sorted into Go, Slow, and Whoa categories; three mats or bins labeled accordingly.
• Setup: Spread cards face up on a table; place the three labeled mats in front.
• Instructions: Students pick one food card, name it, then place it on the correct mat. Group confirms: “Is broccoli a Go food? Why?” - Coin Counting Bingo
• Materials: Bingo boards showing cent values (e.g., 5, 10, 25), markers/chips, real or play coins for the caller.
• Setup: Give each student a bingo board and markers. Prepare the pile of coins for calling.
• Instructions: Teacher shows a coin and names its value (e.g., “This is 25 cents”). Students find and cover the matching number on their board. First student to complete a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line calls “Bingo!” and reads back covered values to check. - Life Skills Quest Wheel
• Materials: Spinner wheel divided into 10 sections, each labeled with one life skill (On Time, Healthy Choices, Hygiene, Money, Shopping, Directions, Cleaning, Communication, Problem Solving, Review).
• Setup: Place the spinner within easy reach of the group.
• Instructions: Students take turns spinning. When the wheel lands on a skill, the student names it and shares one thing they learned (e.g., “Being On Time means arriving when you say you will”). If the group confirms accuracy, the student earns a token.
Use these games in Sessions 1, 2, 4, and 10 to reinforce learning through play!
