Kindness Counts Lesson Plan

Students will learn practical ways to show kindness, understand its impact, and develop empathy in their interactions with peers through tailored individual support.

Promoting kindness in the classroom fosters a nurturing environment and builds strong social-emotional skills, helping students support one another and thrive academically and socially.

Step 1

Session 1: Understanding Kindness

30 minutes

  • Begin with a discussion on what kindness means and why it is important.
  • Share examples of kind actions within the classroom context.
  • Introduce a role-play scenario for students to identify kind behaviors.
  • Conclude with a reflective question asking students to share personal acts of kindness.
