Personal Maps Activity Guide

Overview

Welcome to your Personal Maps Activity! Today, you're going to create a map that shows your unique journey. This map is a fun and creative way to think about your goals, strengths, and areas you want to work on. Use your imagination and be proud of your journey!

Materials

  • Paper or a drawing pad
  • Markers, crayons, or colored pencils

Instructions

1. Draw Your Central Point

  • In the center of your page, draw a big circle. Write your name inside this circle. This represents YOU!

2. Branch Out to Your Goals

  • Draw lines from your central point to smaller circles. In these circles, write down one goal you have. Think about something you would like to achieve, like learning a new skill or finishing a project. Use different colors for each goal if you like!

3. Highlight Your Strengths

  • On another branch, add circles that list your strengths. These could be things like being kind, creative, or a good friend. Ask yourself: "What am I really good at?"

4. Identify Areas to Grow

  • Now, draw more lines that lead to circles representing areas you want to improve. It could be learning to share, being more patient, or trying new things. Remember, it’s okay to work on these areas - that's how we grow!

Creativity and Reflection Tips

  • Use pictures, symbols, or doodles along with words to represent your goals, strengths or areas for growth. If you’re not sure what to draw, ask yourself what makes each one special to you.

  • Think of your personal map as a story. Every part of your map tells a different part of your journey.

  • Take your time, and don’t worry about making it perfect. This is YOUR map and should be as unique as you are!

Reflection Questions

  • What does your map say about who you are?

  • How do you plan on reaching the goals you have set?

  • Which strength are you most proud of, and how can you use it to overcome challenges?

Sharing

  • Once complete, you can share your map with a friend or a small group. Explain what each section of your map means and listen to what your friends have to share about their maps.

Have fun on your journey of self-discovery and remember, every step you take brings you closer to who you are meant to be!
