Inspirational Women Bookmark Workshop

In this workshop, children will create bookmarks featuring inspiring quotes and images of famous women. This activity encourages reading and provides a daily reminder of female empowerment. Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

  • Welcome the students and introduce the activity: creating bookmarks featuring inspirational women.
  • Briefly discuss the importance of reading and how bookmarks can be a fun way to encourage it.
  • Explain that they will use quotes and images of famous women to decorate their bookmarks.

Step 2

Discussion on Inspirational Women

5 mins

  • Ask students if they know any famous women who inspire them.
  • Share a few examples of inspirational women and their achievements.
  • Encourage students to think about what makes these women inspiring.

Step 3

Bookmark Creation

15 mins

  • Distribute materials: colored paper, markers, scissors, glue sticks, images, and quotes.
  • Instruct students to follow these steps to create their bookmarks:
    1. Choose a piece of colored paper: This will be the base of your bookmark.
    2. Select an image and a quote: Pick an image of a famous woman and an inspirational quote that you like.
    3. Cut out the image and quote: Use scissors to carefully cut out the image and quote.
    4. Arrange on the paper: Place the image and quote on the colored paper in a way that looks nice to you.
    5. Glue them down: Use a glue stick to attach the image and quote to the paper.
    6. Decorate: Use markers to add any additional designs or decorations to your bookmark.

Closure and Sharing
