Lesson Plan

Teacher Guide Identity Shields

Students will create a four-quadrant identity shield illustrating strengths, culture, interests, and future hopes, then explain one quadrant to a peer using assets-based language.

This lesson fosters self-awareness, asset-based thinking, and belonging by having students reflect on personal strengths and aspirations, building community and confidence.
