Lesson Plan

Identity Shield Instructions

Students will design an identity shield illustrating at least four facets of who they are (interests, culture, values, goals), then share and reflect to build self-awareness and classroom community.

This lesson fosters self‐reflection, celebrates diversity, and promotes empathy as students recognize and appreciate each other’s unique identities. It supports social‐emotional learning and community building.
