Hygiene Heroes Lesson Plan
By the end of this 30-minute lesson, 10th graders will identify five essential hygiene practices, explain their benefits, and demonstrate how to integrate them into daily routines through discussion, an individual activity, and a collaborative game.
Good hygiene reduces illness, boosts self-confidence, and promotes lifelong health. This lesson empowers students with knowledge and practical skills to care for their well-being.

Welcome students! Introduce the “Hygiene Heroes” lesson. Explain that today we’ll learn five key hygiene practices and why they matter. Remind students that printed agendas and visual supports are available for those with 504 accommodations.

Handwashing
- Why it matters: Removes germs to prevent illness
- When: Before eating, after restroom, after touching shared surfaces
- How: Scrub with soap for at least 20 seconds and rinse thoroughly

Dental Care
- Why it matters: Prevents cavities and gum disease
