Hygiene Heroes Lesson Plan

Students will learn about key hygiene helpers (doctors, dentists, nurses), connect each hero to healthy habits through a read-aloud, coloring activity, and share who inspires them to stay clean.

Reading

Meet the Hygiene Heroes Story

Have you ever heard of the Hygiene Heroes? They are friendly helpers who teach us how to stay clean and healthy every day! Let’s meet three special heroes:

Doctor Daisy

Doctor Daisy wears a bright white coat and carries a stethoscope around her neck. She listens to our heartbeats and checks our breathing. When we wash our hands before she sees us, she smiles and says, “Great job staying clean!”

Dentist Dan

Dentist Dan has a shiny mirror and a gentle toothbrush in his hand. He shows us how to brush each tooth carefully. He reminds us, “Brush two times a day for a sparkly smile!”

Nurse Nina

Nurse Nina wears soft gloves and carries clean wipes. She helps keep bandages fresh and rooms neat. She always says, “Clean hands help happy patients!”

Together, Doctor Daisy, Dentist Dan, and Nurse Nina are our Hygiene Heroes. You can be a hero, too, by practicing these healthy habits at home!

Think About It:

  1. What tool does Doctor Daisy use to listen to your heart?

  2. How does Dentist Dan help keep your teeth healthy?

  3. What does Nurse Nina do to make hospitals safe and clean?
