Let's learn how to stay super clean and healthy!
Welcome students and introduce the exciting topic of hygiene. Ask a warm-up question to get them thinking, like "What does 'hygiene' mean to you?" or "Why is it important to be clean?"
Germs: Tiny Invaders!
They're everywhere! So small you can't see them, but they can make us sick.
Good news: YOU have the power to fight them!
Engage students by asking what they know about germs. Where do they think germs live? How do they spread? Explain that germs are tiny living things that can make us sick, but good hygiene is our superpower against them!
Super Handwashing Power!
Our #1 defense against germs:
- Use soap and water.
- Scrub for 20 seconds (sing "Happy Birthday" twice).
- Wash before eating, after using the restroom, and after coughing/sneezing.
Focus on the importance of handwashing. Demonstrate proper handwashing technique or show a short video if time permits. Emphasize when to wash hands (before eating, after bathroom, after coughing/sneezing, etc.).
Body Fresh & Clean!
Why it's important to shower or bathe regularly:
- Washes away dirt and sweat.
- Keeps your skin healthy.
- Helps you smell good!
Discuss showering/bathing regularly. Explain it removes dirt, sweat, and germs from the skin. Talk about using soap and shampoo.
Sparkling Smiles!
Keep those teeth healthy and bright:
- Brush your teeth twice a day.
- Floss daily to get rid of food between teeth.
- Visit the dentist regularly.
Explain why dental hygiene is important. Discuss brushing twice a day and flossing. You can ask students about their favorite toothpaste or toothbrush.
Clean Clothes, Happy You!
Why clean clothes matter:
- Removes dirt and sweat.
- Helps prevent skin issues.
- Makes you feel fresh and confident!

- Wear clean clothes!
These habits help you stay healthy, feel great, and be ready for anything!
Summarize the key habits and reiterate their importance. Encourage students to think about how they can apply these habits in their daily lives. Transition to the worksheet activity.
