Slide Deck

Your Time-Traveling Superpower!

What if you had a superpower that helped you do everything you wanted to do?

Greet students warmly. Ask a fun, open-ended question about what they like to do. Transition to the idea of having enough time for everything.

Script: "Good morning, future time-traveling heroes! Imagine you woke up and had a superpower that let you do EVERYTHING you wanted to do, perfectly on time, without ever feeling rushed. What would you do first? (Pause for answers) Well, guess what? You CAN have a superpower like that! It's called time management! It's all about planning your day so you can do your schoolwork AND have tons of fun!"

What is Time Management?

Planning your day so you have time for everything important AND everything fun!

Explain simply what time management means. Use an analogy they can understand, like building with blocks or baking a cake.

Script: "Time management sounds like a grown-up word, but it's really simple. It just means being smart about how you use your time, like a master builder plans out each block of their amazing tower, or a super chef knows exactly when to add each ingredient to their delicious cake. Today, we're going to learn how to be time-traveling heroes by planning our own super schedules!"

What Fills Our Day?

School activities
Homework and chores
Playtime and fun!

Engage students by asking them to brainstorm typical daily activities. Write their suggestions on the board.

Script: "Before we can plan our super schedules, we need to think about what we do every day. What are some things you have to do when you're at school? (Wait for responses like 'reading,' 'math,' 'lunch,' 'recess.') Great! Now, what about when you get home? What are some things you have to do, like homework or chores? And what about the things you love to do? Like playing with friends, drawing, or reading a favorite book?"

Must-Dos vs. Want-to-Dos

Must-Dos: Things we have to do (school, homework)
Want-to-Dos: Fun things we love (play, read)

Explain the concept of 'Must-Dos' and 'Want-to-Dos.' Give examples for both.

Script: "We can think of our daily activities as 'Must-Dos' and 'Want-to-Dos.' 'Must-Dos' are the important things we have to get done, like school, homework, or helping around the house. 'Want-to-Dos' are the fun things we love, like playing games or reading. A real time-traveling hero knows how to make time for BOTH!"

Your Schedule: A Daily Map!

A schedule helps you plan your day.
It's like a map for your activities!

Introduce the idea of a schedule as a map for their day.

Script: "Imagine your day is a big adventure! A schedule is like your map, helping you know where you're going and what you'll discover along the way. It helps you get everything done without feeling lost or forgetting something important. Let's make our own maps!"

Time to Create Your Super Schedule!

You will create your own schedule to plan your day!

Transition to the activity: My Super Schedule Creation.

Script: "Now, it's YOUR turn to be a time-traveling hero! We're going to create our very own 'My Super Schedule Creation' to map out our day. This will help us see how to fit in all those 'Must-Dos' and 'Want-to-Dos.' Let's get creative!"

Your Hero's Daily Checklist

Keep track of your activities.
Check them off as you go!

Explain the Hero's Daily Checklist.

Script: "Once you have your super schedule, you'll use your 'Hero's Daily Checklist' to help you remember what to do and when. It's like a secret agent's mission list! You'll check off each task as you complete it, feeling super accomplished!"

You Are a Time-Traveling Hero!

You have the superpower to manage your time!
Use it to accomplish great things and have fun!

Conclude by emphasizing the empowerment of time management.

Script: "Remember, managing your time is a superpower! It helps you do more of what you love and feel proud of what you accomplish. You are all amazing time-traveling heroes! How will you use your superpower today?"
