Holiday Kindness Challenge

Foster empathy and contribution

This lesson encourages students to engage in random acts of kindness within their school and community. It aims to foster a sense of contribution and empathy, enhancing their social-emotional development during the holiday season. By participating in this challenge, students will learn the importance of kindness and how small actions can have a big impact.

  • Briefly introduce the concept of random acts of kindness.
  • Explain how small actions can positively impact others and the community.

Step 2

Discussion

5 minutes

  • Use the Discussion Guide to facilitate a conversation about kindness.
  • Encourage students to share past experiences of giving or receiving kindness.

Step 3

Kindness Challenge Activity

5 minutes

  • Distribute Printable Kindness Cards to each student.
  • Ask students to write down one act of kindness they will commit to doing this week.
  • Encourage them to think about acts that can be done within the school or community.

Step 4

Closure

3 minutes

  • Invite a few students to share their planned acts of kindness.
  • Remind students of the positive impact their actions can have.
  • Encourage them to follow through with their commitments and reflect on the experience.
