Lesson Plan

Facilitator Guide Hidden Hazards

By lesson end, students will list five dangerous substances (alcohol, nicotine/vapes, cannabis, inhalants, unprescribed pills) with an associated immediate risk; demonstrate two I-statement refusals in role-play; and commit to three drug-free alternatives, measured by a pre/post Likert survey and scoring rubric.

This lesson equips 6th graders with knowledge of substance harms, builds refusal skills, and promotes healthy alternatives, fostering informed, drug-free decision-making and resilience against peer pressure.
