Activity
Gold Rush Challenge Cards
Use these cards to introduce surprise obstacles and bonus tasks during the Gold Panning Challenge. Shuffle the cards and have each team draw one at the end of each round.
| Card Title | Type | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Muddy Water | Obstacle | Add an extra handful of sand and water to your tray before the next round. Panning will be slower. |
| Chilly Hands | Obstacle | All team members wear cotton gloves during the next round, making it harder to handle the pan. |
| Double Points | Bonus | All gold nuggets you collect in the next round count as double. |
| Royal Decree | Obstacle | Swap roles with another teammate for the next round. |
| River Spillage | Obstacle | You lose one collected nugget of your choice before the next round begins. |
| Time Warp | Obstacle | The next round is only 1 minute long instead of 2 minutes. |
| Time Bonus | Bonus | Add 30 seconds to your next round. |
| Sneaky Squire | Obstacle | Steal one nugget from another team’s total at the end of this round. |
| Team Boost | Bonus | One teammate can act as a “coach” (can’t pan) to counsel others and offer strategy tips for the next round. |
| Hidden Gem | Bonus | An extra gold nugget is secretly placed in your tray. If you find it, earn 2 bonus points. |
Shuffle and place face-down. After each 2-minute round, each team draws one card and follows its instructions before starting the next round.
