Slide Deck

Morning-to-Night Self-Care Routine

Explore healthy habits from the moment you wake up to the time you go to bed.

Welcome students! Introduce today’s journey through self-care—from wake-up to lights-out. Explain that each slide highlights healthy habits they’ll plan and track.

Why Routines Matter

• Keeps body and mind healthy
• Builds good habits
• Helps manage time
• Boosts energy and focus

Point out how routines help us feel in control and energized. Ask for examples of habits they already follow.

Morning Routines

• Wake up at a consistent time
• Brush teeth & wash face
• Eat a balanced breakfast
• Pack backpack & check your plan

Discuss each morning task. Encourage students to share their wake-up times and favorite breakfasts.

Your Ideal Morning Routine

  1. List three morning habits you do or want to do
  2. Assign a time for each habit
  3. Plan to check off each box on My Daily Hygiene Tracker

Invite students to jot ideas on their tracker. Remind them to think about realistic times.

Afternoon Routines

• Wash hands before & after lunch
• Eat a nutritious lunch
• Drink water regularly
• Take brief movement/stretch breaks

Explain why handwashing and hydration keep energy up. Ask about favorite healthy snacks.

Your Afternoon Check-In

• Choose one healthy habit to practice daily
• Write when you’ll do it and how you’ll remember

Have students note one habit they already practice and one new habit they’d like to try this afternoon.

Evening Routines

• Eat a healthy dinner
• Shower or brush teeth
• Lay out clothes for tomorrow
• Read or relax before bed

Highlight good sleep hygiene: consistent bedtime and calming activities. Ask what relaxes them.

Your Wind-Down Plan

  1. Choose two calming activities (e.g., reading, deep breathing)
  2. Decide on a realistic bedtime
  3. Plan to check off these on My Daily Hygiene Tracker

Encourage students to pick calming activities they enjoy and a bedtime they can stick to.

Habit-Tracking Tips

• Use checkboxes daily
• Set alarms or reminders
• Share goals with a friend for accountability
• Reflect on progress each week

Share these tips to help them stay consistent with their routines and tracker.

Next: Routine Roundtable

In your small groups, use Routine Roundtable Prompts to:

  1. Share one habit you’ll add or improve
  2. Offer positive feedback
  3. Suggest one way to make it easier

Explain the next step: small-group sharing. Remind students to use their prompts and give positive feedback.
