Understanding of gardening concepts

In this lesson, students will explore basic gardening concepts by engaging in a hands-on planting activity. Step 1

Introduction

  • Ask students if they have seen plants growing and what they think plants need to grow.

Step 2

Planting Activity

15 mins

  • Distribute small pots, soil, and seeds to each student.
  • Demonstrate how to fill the pot with soil, plant the seed, and water it lightly.
  • Guide students as they plant their seeds, ensuring they follow the steps.

Step 3

Worksheet Completion

5 mins

  • Hand out the 'Gardening Reflection' worksheet.
  • Ask students to draw their planted seed and write or dictate one thing they learned about plants.

  • Gather students to share their drawings and thoughts.
