In this lesson, students will engage in a brief journaling activity where they note things they are grateful for each day. Step 1

Introduction to Gratitude

3 minutes

  • Begin by asking students if they know what gratitude means.
  • Explain that gratitude is about appreciating the good things in our lives, big or small.
  • Share a personal example of something you are grateful for.

Step 2

Gratitude Journaling Activity

8 minutes

  • Distribute notebooks or paper and pens/pencils to each student.
  • Provide students with the Gratitude Journaling Prompts attachment.
  • Ask students to write down 3 things they are grateful for today.
  • Encourage them to think about small joys, like a sunny day or a kind friend.

Step 3

Reflection and Sharing

4 minutes

  • Invite students to share one thing they wrote about if they feel comfortable.
  • Facilitate a brief discussion on how focusing on gratitude makes them feel.
  • Encourage students to continue this practice daily to cultivate positivity.
