Gratitude Garden

Cultivate gratitude and appreciation

In this lesson, students will engage in a collaborative project called the 'Gratitude Garden.' Each student will create a flower or plant with a written message of gratitude, contributing to a collective display. Step 1

Introduction to Gratitude

5 minutes

  • Begin by asking students what they think gratitude means.
  • Discuss why it's important to appreciate the good things in our lives and the people around us.
  • Share a personal example of something you're grateful for.

Step 2

Creating Gratitude Flowers

15 minutes

  • Distribute construction paper, markers, scissors, and glue to each student.
  • Explain that each student will create a flower or plant with a message of gratitude.
  • Encourage students to think of something or someone they are thankful for and write it on their flower.
  • Assist students as needed with cutting and assembling their flowers.

Step 3

Building the Gratitude Garden

3 minutes

  • Have students come up one by one to add their flower to the 'Gratitude Garden' on the wall or bulletin board.
  • Arrange the flowers to create a colorful and vibrant display.

Step 4

Reflection and Sharing

2 minutes

  • Invite a few students to share what they wrote and why they are grateful.
  • Conclude by emphasizing the importance of gratitude and how it can positively impact our lives.
