Step 1

Introduction

  • Share a simple example of something you are grateful for.

Step 2

Gratitude Garden Activity

20 mins

  • Distribute construction paper, crayons, scissors, and glue to each student.
  • Explain that they will create a 'Gratitude Garden' by drawing flowers and writing or drawing something they are grateful for on each flower.
  • Encourage students to think of different things they are thankful for, such as family, friends, toys, or nature.
  • Assist students as needed, especially those with IEPs, by providing examples or helping with writing.
  • Once completed, students can share their 'Gratitude Garden' with the class.

Closure

  • Gather students in a circle and ask a few volunteers to share one thing from their 'Gratitude Garden.'
  • Reinforce the importance of gratitude and how it makes us feel happy and connected.
  • Thank the students for participating and encourage them to think about gratitude every day.
