Celebrating her birthday builds positive rapport, reflecting on past successes boosts confidence, and setting new goals fosters self-direction and increased independence.

Warm-Up & Birthday Celebration

- Greet the learner warmly and wish her a happy birthday.
- Use the Birthday Bingo Game Cards to play a quick round of bingo celebrating birthday themes.
- Provide markers and let her decorate a small birthday card or choose a treat to mark the occasion.

Warm-Up & Birthday Celebration (10 minutes)
Teacher: “Hi [Learner Name]! Happy belated birthday! I’m so excited to spend this time with you today.”
Teacher: “To kick things off, we’ll play one quick round of Birthday Bingo. Here are your Birthday Bingo Game Cards and a marker.”

Setting the Tone
• Choose a quiet, comfortable space.

2. Write Your Goal Statement (3 minutes)
- Hand the learner the first section of the Goal Planning Worksheet.
