Students will identify at least two green fruits or vegetables and explain one benefit of eating them.
Understanding the importance of healthy eating from a young age helps establish lifelong healthy habits and fuels their bodies for play and learning.

- Gather a variety of real green fruits and vegetables. Wash them thoroughly.
- Prepare ingredients for the Super Green Smoothie: peel banana, wash spinach, measure milk/yogurt.
- Set up stations for the hands-on activity, if doing in small groups.
- Print or prepare to display the My Green Food Power Worksheet.

Materials:

- Small plates or cutting boards for each student or small group
- Optional: magnifying glasses
Instructions:
- Introduce the Mission (2 minutes): Tell students they are going on a special "Green Food Scavenger Hunt!" Explain that they will be detectives using their eyes, hands, and noses to learn about green foods.
- See It! (3 minutes): Distribute one or two green food items to each student or small group on a plate. Encourage them to look closely. Ask: "What shape is it? What shades of green do you see? Is it shiny or dull?"
- Feel It! (3 minutes): Have students gently touch the food. Ask: "Is it bumpy or smooth? Hard or soft? How does it feel in your hands?"
- Smell It! (2 minutes): Guide students to carefully smell their green food. Ask: "What does it smell like? Does it have a strong smell or a soft smell?"
- Talk About It! (Optional for taste, 3 minutes): As a class, discuss what they observed using their senses.
