Introduce basic fitness routines

Cones, Jump ropes, Hula hoops, Stopwatch, Water bottles, and Fitness Trail Challenge Discussion

Step 1

Introduction

10 mins

  • Gather students in a circle and introduce the concept of a fitness trail.
  • Discuss the importance of regular physical activity and how it benefits our health.
  • Explain the different stations they will encounter on the trail.

Step 2

Warm-Up

10 mins

  • Lead students in a series of warm-up exercises such as jumping jacks, arm circles, and stretching.
  • Emphasize the importance of warming up before any physical activity.

Step 3

Fitness Trail Stations

30 mins

  • Divide students into small groups and assign each group to a starting station.
  • Stations include:
    • Jump Rope Station: Students jump rope for 2 minutes.
    • Hula Hoop Station: Students hula hoop for 2 minutes.
    • Cone Weaving Station: Students weave through cones set up in a zigzag pattern.
    • Relay Race Station: Students participate in a short relay race.
  • Rotate groups every 5 minutes until all have completed each station.

Step 4

Cool Down and Reflection

5 mins

  • Lead students in a cool-down session with deep breathing and stretching exercises.
  • Gather students in a circle and ask them to share their favorite station and why.

Closure

  • Discuss the importance of staying active and how they can incorporate these exercises into their daily routine.
