Fitness Fun Obstacle Course

This lesson engages Grade 3 students in a fun and active obstacle course designed to promote cardiovascular fitness and coordination. Step 1

Introduction

  • Gather students in a circle.

  • Briefly discuss the importance of cardiovascular fitness and coordination.

Step 2

Warm-Up

5 mins

  • Lead students in a series of dynamic stretches (e.g., arm circles, leg swings).
  • Perform light jogging in place to get the heart rate up.

Step 3

Obstacle Course Setup

10 mins

  • Divide students into small groups.
  • Assign each group a station to set up using cones, hula hoops, and jump ropes.
  • Ensure each station has a clear challenge (e.g., jumping through hoops, zig-zag running).

Obstacle Course Activity

  • Explain the rules: each group will navigate the course, completing each station.
