Step 1

Introduction

  • Begin by welcoming the student and explaining the importance of understanding and expressing feelings.
  • Introduce the concept of emotions and how they can be communicated.

Step 2

Video Viewing

6 mins

  • Watch the Guess the Feelings and Emotions video together.
  • Pause after each emotion to discuss what the student thinks the emotion is and when she might feel that way.

Step 3

Emotion Discussion

7 mins

  • Use emotion cards to discuss different feelings.
  • Ask the student to pick a card and describe a time she felt that way.
  • Encourage her to use words and expressions to communicate her feelings.

Step 4

Collaborative Emotion Game

10 mins

  • Play a game where the student picks an emotion card and acts it out while you guess the emotion.
  • Switch roles and let her guess the emotions you act out.
  • Use the whiteboard to draw faces representing different emotions and discuss them.

Step 5

Closure

2 mins

  • Recap the emotions learned and discuss how understanding feelings can help in daily life.
  • Encourage the student to practice expressing her feelings at home.
