Who Is Your Family?

Hello, everyone!
What do you love to do with your family?

Welcome the students and introduce the topic of families. Ask a few students to share something they like to do with their family to get them thinking.

Families Are All Different!

Some families have a mom and a dad.
Some families have two moms or two dads.
Some families have one parent.
Some families have grandparents, aunts, uncles, or cousins!

Explain that families are made up of different people. Some have lots of people, some have a few. It's all wonderful!

Brothers and Sisters!

Do you have brothers or sisters?
Some families have lots of kids!
Some families have one kid.
Some families have no kids, just grown-ups!

Talk about how siblings can be a big part of a family. Ask who has brothers or sisters.

Pets are Family Too!

Does your family have a pet?
Dogs, cats, fish, hamsters can all be part of our families!

Introduce the idea of pets as family members for many. Ask if anyone has a pet.

Every Family Is Special!

No matter who is in your family...
Or what your family looks like...
Your family is special and full of love!
What makes your family special to you?

Summarize the key message: every family is special because it's your family and it's full of love. Encourage them to be proud of their family.
