Smooth stones, Acrylic paints, Paintbrushes, Permanent markers, Paper towels, Disposable plates (for mixing paint), Cup of water (for rinsing brushes), and Paper and pens for writing stories

Step 1

Introduction

10 mins

  • Welcome the leaders and explain the activity.
  • Discuss the concept of story stones and how they can be used to tell stories.
  • Show examples of fall-themed story stones (leaves, pumpkins, acorns, etc.).

Step 2

Creating Story Stones

20 mins

  • Provide each participant with a set of smooth stones.
  • Distribute paints, brushes, markers, and other materials.
  • Instruct participants to create fall-themed designs on their stones (e.g., pumpkins, leaves, acorns, etc.).
  • Offer guidance and assistance as needed.

Step 3

Crafting Stories

20 mins

  • Once the stones are dry, have participants form small groups.
  • Each group will use their stones to create a fall-themed story.
  • Encourage them to be creative and incorporate all the stones into their narrative.
  • Provide paper and pens for groups to write down their stories if they wish.
