Lesson Plan

Facial Expression Exploration Plan

Students will identify and interpret diverse facial expressions, discuss possible emotions and backstories, and practice perspective taking through interactive activities to strengthen social awareness and empathy.

Understanding and interpreting peers’ emotions fosters empathy, improves communication, and builds positive classroom relationships. This lesson supports SEL goals by helping 2nd graders recognize feelings and consider others’ viewpoints.
