Use art for self-expression

This lesson encourages 3rd grade students to express their emotions and thoughts through creative outlets such as drawing and painting. Demonstration

  • Show examples of how different colors and shapes can represent different emotions.
  • Demonstrate a simple drawing or painting that expresses a feeling, such as happiness or sadness.

Art Activity

30 mins

  • Distribute drawing paper, colored pencils, and paints to each student.
  • Encourage students to create a piece of art that represents how they are feeling today.
  • Walk around the room to provide guidance and support as needed.

Sharing and Discussion

  • Invite students to share their artwork with the class if they feel comfortable.
