Exploring Future Careers

Discover various career options

In this lesson, students will be introduced to different career options through fun activities and group discussions. They will learn about the skills needed for different careers and think about how their interests and abilities align with potential jobs. This lesson aims to help students start thinking about their future careers and motivate them to set goals for their education and personal growth.

Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

  • Welcome the students and explain the goal of the lesson.
  • Briefly discuss why it's important to think about different career options and how it can help them in school and life.

Step 2

Class Discussion

10 mins

  • Use the Career Discussion Questions attachment to guide a discussion about different careers.
  • Encourage students to share careers they are curious about and what they know about them.
  • Write key points and different job categories on the whiteboard.

Step 3

Interactive Activity

20 mins

  • Distribute the Career Exploration Worksheet to each student.
  • Ask students to fill out the worksheet by thinking about their skills and what they enjoy doing.
  • Allow students to discuss their answers with a partner or small group after filling out the worksheet.

Step 4

Class Sharing

5 mins

  • Invite a few students to share their worksheet responses with the class.
  • Highlight the variety of career interests shared by the students.

  • Summarize the main points from the lesson.
  • Encourage students to keep thinking about careers and the skills they want to develop.
