In this lesson, students will develop empathy and understanding through interactive role-playing activities and guided discussions. Understanding empathy is crucial for fostering healthy relationships and promoting a supportive community within the classroom.

Role-Playing Activity

20 mins

Split students into small groups.
Distribute role-playing scenarios to each group (see attachment).
Allow groups 5 minutes to read and prepare.
Have each group perform their scenario while others observe.

Discussion

15 mins

Use prepared discussion questions to guide a conversation about the role-playing activity.
Encourage students to share their thoughts and feelings about the scenarios they acted out or observed.
Discuss different perspectives and how empathy can help resolve conflicts.
