Introduction

2 minutes

  • Teacher: "Good morning, everyone. Today, we're going to talk about empathy and compassion. Can anyone tell me what empathy means to you?"
  • Teacher: "Empathy is about understanding and sharing the feelings of others. Compassion takes it a step further by involving actions to help. Let's explore these concepts together."

Step 2

Guided Practice

5 minutes

  • Teacher: "Now, I'm going to give each pair of you an Empathy Scenario Card. Read the scenario with your partner and discuss how you would feel in that situation and what compassionate actions you could take."
  • Teacher: "After a few minutes, I'll ask some of you to share your thoughts with the class. Remember, there's no right or wrong answer—just your perspective."

Step 3

Independent Practice

2 minutes

  • Teacher: "Think about a time when you showed empathy or compassion. Write a short sentence about how it made you feel. This reflection is just for you, so be honest with yourself."

Step 4
