Understand and express emotions

This lesson focuses on helping Believers identify, understand, and express different emotions through interactive activities. Utilizing role-playing and creative expression, it aims to develop emotional literacy and empathy among young students, which is crucial for their social and emotional development.

Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

Welcome the students and explain the importance of understanding and expressing emotions. Introduce the feelings chart and briefly go over different emotions, showing corresponding faces on the chart.

Step 2

Role-Playing Activity

15 mins

Divide the students into small groups and distribute role-playing scenario cards. Instruct each group to act out their scenario and discuss the emotions involved. Encourage students to express how they would feel in those situations.

Step 3

Creative Expression Activity

10 mins

Provide drawing paper and colored pencils. Ask students to draw a picture of themselves feeling a particular emotion they choose from the feelings chart. Once completed, invite students to share their drawings and explain their illustrations to the class.

Step 4

Group Discussion

10 mins

Facilitate a group discussion using prepared questions to reflect on the role-playing and drawing activities. Use the discussion questions attachment to guide the conversation.

Step 5

Closure

5 mins

Summarize the key points of the lesson. Emphasize the importance of recognizing and expressing emotions. Thank the students for their participation and encourage them to use what they've learned in their daily lives.
