Emotional Weather Report

Step 1

Introduction

5 minutes

  • Explain that today, they will be weather reporters, but instead of reporting on the weather outside, they will report on their own emotional weather.
  • Introduce the concept of using weather metaphors to describe emotions (e.g., "sunny" for happy, "stormy" for angry).

Weather Report Activity

  • Distribute the Printable Weather Metaphor Cards to each student.
  • Ask students to think about how they are feeling today and choose a weather metaphor that best describes their emotions.
  • Invite students to share their emotional weather report with the class, using the metaphor they selected.
  • Encourage students to explain why they chose that particular metaphor.
