Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

  • Introduce the objectives of the lesson.
  • Highlight that today's lesson will be fun as it involves a game.

Step 2

Game: Emotion Charades

15 mins

  • Split the class into small groups.
  • Provide each group with a set of Emotion Cards (each card will have an emotion written on it).
  • One student from each group will pick a card and act out the emotion while the others guess.
  • Rotate turns within the groups.
  • Discuss briefly after each round what clues were helpful.

Step 3

Worksheet Activity

7 mins

  • Hand out the 'Emotional Intelligence Journal' worksheet.
  • Ask students to reflect on the game and write down three emotions that were easy to guess and three that were difficult.
  • Have them write about how they might handle a difficult emotion in real life.
  • Provide Spanish versions for Spanish-speaking students.

Closure

  • Recap the lesson by discussing the importance of recognizing and managing emotions.
  • Invite a few students to share their reflections from the worksheet.
