Worksheet

Emotional Intelligence Skills Practice

This worksheet includes scenarios that require students to apply the four key skills of Emotional Intelligence: perceiving, using, understanding, and managing emotions. By working through these scenarios, students will practice and enhance their EI skills.

Scenario 1: You notice your friend is unusually quiet and seems upset. What would you do to perceive and understand their emotions?

Look for non-verbal cues like body language and facial expressions. Consider asking them gently if something is wrong.

Scenario 2: You’re feeling nervous before a big presentation. How can you use your emotions to prepare effectively?

Channel your nervous energy into practicing your presentation and focusing on your key points.

Scenario 3: A classmate is angry about an unfair grade. How can you help them manage their emotions?

Listen to their concerns, empathize with their feelings, and suggest constructive ways to address the issue with the teacher.

Scenario 4: Reflect on a recent time when you felt a strong emotion. How did you manage it, and what could you have done differently?
