Identify and express basic emotions

Introduction

  • Welcome the students and introduce the idea of being an 'Emotion Detective'.
  • Explain that they will learn to identify and express different feelings today.
  • Discuss why understanding emotions is important for making friends and feeling good.

Pre-Test

  • Distribute the Pre-Test to each student.
  • Explain that they will look at pictures and try to identify the emotions shown.
  • Collect the tests to review their initial understanding.

Emotion Detective Game

  • Hand out the Printable Emotion Cards with Images to each student.
  • Explain the rules: Students will take turns picking a card and showing the emotion using their face and body.
