Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

Step 2

Collaborative Activity

15 mins

  • Divide students into small groups and provide each group with a set of Emotion Cards.
  • Instruct each group to pick a card, identify the emotion, and discuss a situation where they might feel this way.
  • Ask them to brainstorm and write down strategies to manage this emotion effectively.
  • Encourage groups to share their findings with the class.

Step 3

Emotion Regulation Game

10 mins

  • Introduce the Emotion Regulation Game where students will play a matching game.
  • Provide each student with a set of cards that have different emotions and strategies written on them.
  • Students must match the emotion with an appropriate strategy to manage it.
  • Discuss the matches as a class to reinforce learning.

Step 4

Closure and Exit Ticket

5 mins

  • Recap the strategies discussed by the groups and during the game.
  • Distribute the Exit Ticket and ask students to write down one new strategy they learned for managing emotions.
  • Collect the Exit Tickets as they leave.
