Explore various professions

Students will explore various professions by creating a 'career collage' using magazines, drawings, and online resources. Step 1

Introduction

  • Welcome students and explain the purpose of the lesson: exploring different careers.
  • Discuss the importance of thinking about different job options and how it can help them set goals for the future.
  • Show the video Habits of a Good Student for Children to emphasize the skills needed for success in any profession.
  • Explain that students will create a 'career collage' that represents their dream jobs.

Career Collage Creation

  • Distribute the Career Collage Planning Worksheet.
  • Allow students to browse magazines and use online resources to find images, words, and drawings that represent their dream job.
  • Guide students as they cut out and glue these items onto construction paper to create their collage.
