Creative Drawing Adventure

This lesson engages 7-8 year olds in a free drawing activity, encouraging creativity and collaboration. Students will explore their artistic abilities while working together, fostering both individual expression and teamwork skills. Step 1

Introduction

10 mins

Gather students in a circle and introduce the activity.
Explain that they will be doing a free drawing session where they can draw anything they imagine.
Discuss the importance of creativity and how art can express feelings and ideas.

Step 2

Group Formation

5 mins

Divide students into small groups of 3-4.
Ensure each group has a large sheet of paper and a set of markers.

Step 3

Drawing Activity

30 mins

Allow students to start drawing, encouraging them to share ideas and collaborate on a group drawing.
Walk around to provide support and encouragement.
Remind students to respect each other's ideas and space.

Step 4

Gallery Walk

10 mins

Have each group display their artwork around the room.
Allow students to walk around and view each other's work.
Encourage them to ask questions and give positive feedback.

Step 5

Closure

5 mins

Gather students back in a circle.
Ask them to share what they enjoyed about the activity and what they learned.
Thank them for their participation and creativity.
