Step 1

Introduction

  • Welcome the students and explain that today they will be going on a creative art adventure.
  • Briefly discuss what art is and how it can be a fun way to express feelings and ideas.
  • Introduce the video they will be watching.

  • After the video, gather the students for a discussion.
  • Use the provided discussion questions to guide the conversation about the video and how emotions can be expressed through art.

Step 4

Collaborative Art Relay

  • Divide the students into small groups and provide each group with a large piece of paper or canvas.
  • Set up relay stations with different art supplies (markers, crayons, paints, etc.).
  • Explain the rules of the art relay: each student will take turns adding to the group mural for a set amount of time (e.g., 1 minute) before passing the art supplies to the next teammate.
  • Encourage students to work together and share ideas.
  • Walk around to provide guidance and support as needed.

  • Once the murals are complete, have a gallery walk where each group presents their artwork to the class.
