Creating a Bully-Free Zone

In this lesson, students will learn about the importance of creating a bully-free environment. They will work together to establish a set of rules and guidelines to ensure their classroom or club is a safe and welcoming space for everyone. Step 1

Introduction

5 mins

  • Gather students in a circle.
  • Briefly explain what bullying is in simple terms (e.g., "Bullying is when someone is mean to others on purpose and it makes them feel bad.").
  • Ask if anyone has seen or heard of bullying before.

Step 2

Group Activity: Creating Rules

15 mins

  • Divide students into small groups.
  • Provide each group with chart paper and markers.
  • Ask them to think of rules that would help keep their classroom bully-free.
  • Encourage them to draw or write their ideas on the paper.
  • After 10 minutes, have each group share their rules with the class.
