Explore Core Values

This lesson is designed to help a single adult explore their core values in a supportive and trauma-informed telehealth setting. Through guided activities and reflection, the participant will gain insights into their personal values, which can enhance self-awareness and decision-making. This lesson is important as it fosters personal growth and emotional well-being, providing a foundation for healthier relationships and life choices.

Step 1

Introduction

3 minutes

  • Welcome the participant and explain the purpose of the session: exploring core values.
  • Briefly discuss the importance of understanding one's core values in personal growth and decision-making.

Step 2

Core Values Activity

10 minutes

  • Guide the participant through a brief mindfulness exercise to center their thoughts.
  • Ask the participant to think about moments in their life when they felt truly fulfilled or proud.
  • Encourage them to identify the values that were present in those moments.
  • Use the Core Values Worksheet to list these values.

Step 3

Reflection and Discussion

5 minutes

  • Invite the participant to share any insights or surprises they discovered during the activity.
  • Discuss how these core values align with their current life choices and goals.
  • Encourage them to think about how they can incorporate these values more into their daily life.

Closure

  • Summarize the key points discussed and thank the participant for their openness.
  • Suggest they continue reflecting on their core values and consider journaling about them in the future.
